Bankruptcy

Jennie Patton

Attorney at Law

There are two kinds of bankruptcy for consumers:

Chapter 7 bankruptcy generally discharges (eliminates) debt. Many people qualify to file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy and discharge their unsecured debts to give them a fresh financial start.

Chapter 13 bankruptcy is a 3 to 5 year repayment plan.  Some people find a Chapter 13 bankruptcy is a better option because it allows them to keep their home or vehicles when they are not current in their payments, but can catch up over time.
